During his student years at USC (1980-1986)\, he studied with Pepe Romero and James Smith and was a chosen performer in the USC Segovia Masterclasses of 1981 and 1986. He has authored several books and articles on guitar technique\, including the best-seller Pumping Nylon\, which has attained cult classic status. It has become a standard text in conservatory and university guitar programs around the world.

As a teacher\, Brian is deeply passionate about teaching young musicians as well as college level performers. He is certified in Suzuki Guitar instruction and enjoys developing young musicians from beginning through advanced levels\, many of his students advancing to win local and international competitions. \nWhile earning his degrees (Doctorate: University of Southern California\, Masters: Azusa Pacific\, Bachelor’s: Cal State Northridge) Brian was a frequent competitor in classical guitar competitions.  His accolades include top prizes in The Randy Rhoades Scholarship Competition\, ASTA Solo Guitar Competition\, and Sierra Nevada Solo Guitar Competition\, among others. Treasures Award\, the Frampton Award for Excellence in Contemporary Music and the Paulo Barsacchi award for guitar composition\, and grants from the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Meet the Composer\, among others. He studied flamenco guitar in Spain and the U.S. with a wide range of teachers including Manolo Sanlucar\, El Carbonero\, Paco Arroyo\, Manolo Franco\, and others.\nStephen leads Mojácar Flamenco\, a contemporary flamenco music and dance company based in Monrovia with his partner\, Katerina Tomás www.mojacarflamenco.com. But he wasn’t done there! \nNext he joined The Austin Lounge Lizards\, America’s premiere comedy bluegrass band. With the Lounge Lizards\, Korey opened for Earl Scruggs\, Dolly Parton\, Ralph Stanley and Bela Fleck among many others. \nAlso a teacher\, Korey most enjoys instructing beginners and young students but is comfortable teaching all levels of students\, regardless of age. He is at home informing students about musical theory\, arrangement and songwriting as well. Korey believes that teaching is an extension of his own thoughts which meld with the thoughts of his students. He and his students are a team\, united in the goal of furthering their musical education as well as his own. He has collaborated with renowned artists such as Yo-Yo Ma\, Paquito d’Rivera & the Assad Brothers \nMember of the Brasil Guitar Duo for over 20 years\, Douglas has been nominated for a Latin Grammy as “Best Classical Music Album\,” in 2018. \n“The original compositions by Lora comfortably stand alongside the ‘big names’ on the rest of the program and are well crafted and very appealing’ -Steve March\, Classical Guitar Magazine. \nCurrently\, Douglas is pursuing his Doctoral degree at University of Southern California under Scott Tennant. \n \n  \n \nJazz guitarist Riner Scivally has performed with Alan Broadbent\, Larance Marable\, Stacey Rowles and Putter Smith. He received a bachelor’s degree from Occidental College\, an MM from USC\, and later studied at the Scuola Civica di Milano in Italy.  He is on the faculty of Pasadena City College and the Applied Music faculty of Occidental College. DESCRIPTION:  \nGuitar Nights Celebrates USC Classical Guitar!\nWilliam Kanengiser\, LAGQ member\, USC Thornton Professor and acclaimed soloist\, will perform  along with some of his most talented students.  The lineup will include: \nSenior Robert Wang\, the current “GSI Scholar” at USC\, will play Spanish dances on Baroque guitar\, as well as works by Richard Wagner and George Crumb on modern classical guitar. \nDoctoral students and Thornton Teaching Assistants Grigorii Koval and Joseph Douglass will perform as a duo\, featuring selections from Tedesco’s Sonata Canonica and Giuliani’s brilliant Variaciones Concertantes. \nFeatured artist William Kanengiser will take the stage and play works by Joaquín Turina\, Leo Brouwer\, Dušan Bogdanović and Bryan Johanson.  He’ll also perform the West Coast premiere of “Reflections on the Dranyen” by Andrea Clearfield.  Commissioned as part of his “Diaspora Project”\, the work is based on traditional Tibetan music\, and was chosen as the set piece for this year’s GFA Competition. \nAs a special treat\, the concert will conclude with a performance by Marianchi Los Troyanos de USC\, a group of USC students playing and singing traditional Mexican songs on folkloric instruments. \n  \nRecognized as one of America’s finest classical guitarists\, William Kanengiser won First Prize in the 1987 Concert Artists Guild International Competition as well as major guitar competitions in Toronto (1981) and Paris (1983).  He has recorded four solo CD’s for the GSP label\, ranging from classical to jazz to Caribbean to Near Eastern styles\, and he recently recorded two CD’s for the Suzuki Guitar Advanced Repertoire Series. In 2005 he released a live concert DVD\, “Classical Guitar and Beyond”\, for Mel Bay Recordings\, which also features Mr. Kanengiser’s talents as a comedian/mimic in his infamous “GFA Imitation Show”. A member of the guitar faculty at the USC Thornton School of Music since 1983\, he was a recipient of the “2011 Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching”. He has given master classes around the world and produced two instructional videos\, “Effortless Classical Guitar” and “Classical Guitar Mastery” for Hot Licks Video. The 2010-11 season was marked by special performances of Shingo Fujii’s “Concerto de Los Angeles” for solo guitar and guitar orchestra\, which was written for Mr. Kanengiser and recorded in Kyoto in 2008. This piece was played with guitar students in seven US cities\, as well as in Osaka and Shanghai. Featured recitals in 2012-13 include Spivey Hall near Atlanta and appearances with the Long Island\, Philadelphia\, Sacramento\, Calgary and Indianapolis Guitar Socities.

He played lead guitar for Jackson Browne from 1994 – 2010.  From 2012-2014 he toured with acclaimed pianist and actor Hugh Laurie. In 2016 he played with Spanish superstar Manolo Garcia. \n \nBob Hamilton Few guitarists come with the skill set that includes college training in jazz\, classical\, and Afro-Latin music\, national competitions for bluegrass banjo\, touring with the most popular cover band in the world\, a decade plus in rock/funk/soul bands\, and an ability to learn\, write and improvise everyday. \n \nCash Harrington is a 16 year old singer/songwriter from Los Angeles\, California. You can find his performing at Breweries\, Farmers Markets\, Third Street Promenade\, and many other gigs which he has been doing for years. DESCRIPTION:Born in 1971 in Beckenham\, England\, Richard started early and first picked up the guiar at the age of 5 with his father teaching him his first chords and songs. \nAfter some early solo performances and six years of working as a trio with two of his brothers\, Rob and Sam in the 90’s\, Richard moved to Nashville\, TN. in January 2000\, \nIn 2001 he won the national fingerpicking championship and has since forged a career as a solo artist\, performing all over the USA\, Canada\, UK\, Europe\, Australia and Brazil\, releasing solo records\, duet and ensemble records. \nConstantly touring with a repertoire of fingerpicking classics\, originals\, fiddle tunes\, blues\,  Joplin rags\, jazz standards\, classical repertoire and everything from pop to Sousa marches\, \nRichard has also performed or recorded along the way with Chet Atkins\, Les Paul\, Tommy Emmanuel\, Suzy Bogguss\, Steve Wariner\, Jimmy Fortune\, Earl Klugh\, Martin Taylor\, Joscho Stephan\, Sam Bush\, Stuart Duncan\, John Schneider\, Lee Roy Parnell\, Brent Mason\, Rory Hoffman and a host of others.

DESCRIPTION:Jodi Siegel was born in Chicago\, IL. The Home of the Blues! She eventually relocated to California and  began playing and singing in countless blues\, R & B\, pop and original music bands throughout Orange County\, San Diego and Los Angeles. Over the years Jodi has opened for and or shared the stage with many respected musicians including: Albert King\, Robben Ford\, Robert Cray\, J.D. Souther\, David Lindley\, Fred Tacket and Paul Barrere (Little Feat) and countless others. Her songs have been recorded by Maria Muldaur (“So Many Rivers To Cross\,”-cowritten with Daniel Moore and “If I Were You”-cowritten with Danny Timms) Marcia Ball (“So Many Rivers To Cross.”) and Teresa James (“Come Up and See Me Sometime”-cowritten with Danny Timms \nFluid technical command\, natural expressivity and a remarkable versatility distinguish guitarist Matthew Greif. Matthew is a member of the Grammy-winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet\, with whom he has toured worldwide. In addition to his work with LAGQ\, and as soloist\, he performs in an array of concert settings. Past performances range from the L.A. Philharmonic Green Umbrella series at Disney Hall\, to appearances or collaborations with legends such as Pat Metheny\, Dave Brubeck\, Scott Henderson\, and Chet Atkins. \nMatthew’s diversity is represented by his recordings. His critically-acclaimed debut recording\, Permanent Transition\, featured the world premieres of world/classical solo compositions as well as duo improvisations with Andrew York and Dusan Bogdanovic. El Encanto features favorites of the classical guitar repertoire. His latest\, Circle\, is a modern jazz recording\, featuring mostly original compositions. Featured on the album are the extraordinary talents Ric Fierabracci (Chick Corea) on bass\, and drummers Walter Rodriguez and Cougar Estrada (Los Lobos). Matthew also recorded a duet with Scott Tennant on the Delos recording Wild Mountain Thyme. \n

DESCRIPTION:Adam Ratner is a guitarist\, composer and producer based in Los Angeles\, CA. He was mentored by bassist Charlie Haden and also studied with Larry Koonse\, Alan Pasqua\, and Vince Mendoza. \n​Adam has shared the stage and worked with musicians including Larry Goldings\, David Binney\, Ravi Coltrane\, Louis Cole\, Genevieve Artadi\, Sam Amidon\, KNOWER\, Sam Wilkes\, Sam Gendel\, Tim Lefebvre\, Pedro Martins\, Nate Wood\, Frederico Heliodoro\, Antonio Loureiro\, Darek Oleszkiewicz\, Ben Wendel\, Jack Conte\, Fabiano Do Nascimento\, and Niia. His videos with Louis Cole Big Band have totaled over 5-million views on YouTube. He has been recognized at Lincoln Center in New York City as a winner of the ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Awards and was a featured teacher at FIMUCA 2020; a Brazilian government sponsored guitar seminar\, along with Daniel Santiago\, Kurt Rosenwinkel\, and Mike Moreno. \nAdam has toured with the experimental pop-electronic group KNOWER\, including performances throughout the west coast and at the SF Jazz Festival. \nHis quartet RICK (w/ Sam Gendel/ Richard Sears/ Louis Cole) released a live LP on Stones Throw Records\, and in 2017\, he played on INGA’s Terrible Records releases Infinity and 4444.  He has been featured on Genevieve Artadi’s album La\, La\, La\, Louis Cole’s Live Sesh & Xtra Songs\, Sam Wilkes’ Live on the Green (Leaving Records)\, David Binney’s Aerial 2\, and on NPR Tiny Desk Concerts with Fabiano do Nascimento. \n\n\nHis recordings along with INGA have been featured as “Best New Track” by Pitchfork.com\, BBC Radio 6\, and featured on Bandcamp weekly. Adam’s performances have been highlighted numerous times by the LA-Weekly and have been frequently chosen as “pick of the week” by LaJazz.com.  His releases Dreamscape and Novo Horizonte feature David Binney\, Louis Cole\, Genevieve Artadi\, Sam Wilkes\, & Jacob Mann\, and his new release Into the Wave is out now. \n\n\nTemperMental is an all-girl rock band quickly gaining notoriety in the L.A. music scene. They are lauded as “The Next Generation of Rock ‘n Roll\, known for their mad harmonious rock and stellar live performances.”. The founding members of the band were brought together by circumstance while spending several months filming the Netflix Comedy TV Series “Wet Hot American Summer\, Ten Years Later” in Malibu. During this time\, they found that they all had a common bond in music and spent their breaks singing together. A few months after filming wrapped the girls got together for fun and decided to form their all-girl rock band.\nYou can hear their music on regular rotation now on local radio stations or see them playing at world famous venues such as the Whiskey a Go Go or the House of Blues. They also recently performed and had their new music video release party at the legendary The Village Studios in Los Angeles as guests of owner Jeff Greenberg who had this to say about them:\n“…I am honored that we get to be of service to some of the greatest artists in the business and I want to tell you that in my whole time here\, I’ve been here now for 23 years\, I haven’t been excited as I am now about a new band in years and I’d like to present them to you right now. So how about a huge hand for my favorite band\, TemperMental”\nThe band just released the first single from their new album\, along with a new music video\, with more music to follow. They previously released an official music video directed by Emmy nominated director Matt Fackrell\, and released many more music video’s directed by the band themselves\, and are currently working on new music.

DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nGuitarist Riner Scivally is noted for his warm tone and lyrical solos. A long-time South Pas resident\, he is on the faculty at Occidental College and Pasadena City College\, and has worked with a variety of jazz artists including Alan Broadbent\, Larance Marable\, Bobby Bradford\, Putter Smith and Gary Foster. His most recent recording is “Barcelona Encounter”\, with a group of two Americans and three Europeans\, which makes for a lively mixture of backgrounds and traditions. \nBlake White is one of the most talented double bass players in Southern California.  He is a self-taught jazz bassist who has spent many years perfecting his visceral style of playing. Blake White has played internationally and has used his experiences to perfect his talent. Having moved to Los Angeles in 2011\, he has quickly aligned himself with some of the finest musicians and musical organizations.  He has been a major contributor to the jazz community and has worked extensively to represent the true meaning of Jazz. \n
